EVENTS > Winter Cross Country
"Winter only” registrations will be taken from 13th March, 2010. All year (track and cross country) registrations are accepted anytime. Forms can be downloaded from the Programs and Results (Winter) page.
Our varied course program for next season will be finalised in February 2010. However, to get an idea about our program, please view our records and results page.
Our program includes cross country and road runs at a wide variety of venues throughout the Sutherland Shire particularly the various National Parks and trails available in the area.
Distances each weekend are 1km, 2km, 3km, 5km, and 10km and a 'snake' race for the smaller kids of members which is usually only a fun 50-100m.
Upon sign up, members are required to select which distance they would like to earn points in, but members can run any distance they like each week and more than one if desired! The points system is explained further in the Membership Pack which includes all the required forms for signing up.
Membership fees can be paid on a casual, seasonal or annual basis. Casual or trialling members may only run twice as a trialling member. After 2 runs, a seasonal (club or ANSW) or annual (ANSW) membership is required to be purchased. Participation at ANSW (state) events is only possible with ANSW registration and seasonal or annual membership. We encourage all our registered members to participate in relay and state events. More information about memberships can be found in the information pack available on the Programs and Results (Winter) page.
ANSW caters for all age groups from under age (U12, U14, U16,U18,U20), open, 35+ up to 90+. The masters age groups (35+) are grouped in 5 year increments (e.g. 35-39, 40-44 etc). With high levels of participation, Sutherland District Athletics Club has reaped many medals in the past at state events.
